Lorraine Bushell (formerly Bass) started running the Edgware Au Pair Agency from her home in Edgware some 40 years ago.   In 1987, Lorraine opened Solihull Au Pair & Nanny Agency based in Birmingham.   After so many years, Lorraine has asked Amanda Pampel to run the combined agencies for her and Amanda has successfully taken over the Au Pair side of the business which she runs from her office in Radlett, Hertfordshire.    

Amanda has the advantage of a huge data base of families all over the UK and Ireland.   Networking with many overseas agencies, Amanda has an excellent supply of au pairs of many different nationalities and will offer the best help and advice to prospective families.  As well as placing au pair girls, Amanda successfully places many au pair boys and more and more families are requesting male au pairs especially if the family has sons.

 Lorraine is dealing with the placement of au pairs in Europe and in America and has vast experience in this field.  Lorraine works with AuPairCare, an excellent Cultural Exchange Programme based in San Franciso.  Interviews are arranged all over  the UK and Ireland and there are always families asking for British and Irish Au Pairs.

 Families in many European countries request English speaking au pairs and for young people looking to take time out from their studies, this is a really excellent way of improving their language skills.  Au Pairs are placed mainly in France, Italy, Spain and Germany.   Families constantly apply for au pairs who must be aged 18 - 26 and have good child-care experience.  Some knowledge of a European language is useful and makes life easier for an au pair going to live abroad. 

 Lorraine deals with the placement of Nannies in and around the West Midlands and welcomes new nannies and new families.  All Nannies are qualified, police checked with First Aid qualifications and are personally interviewed.  Baby-sitters to the Birmingham area are also supplied, even on a one off basis, if for example a family is coming to the National Exhibition Centre bringing their children with them, or is staying in a Birmingham hotel and needs a baby- sitter to come to the hotel.  This can usually be arranged with some prior notice.

We co-operate with AuPairCare Cultural Exchange in sending applicants to the USA on a legal visa.
